BSP pipe thread stands for British Standard Pipe (Whitworth) and is standard in hydraulics and pneumatics. It is available both as straight parallel thread BSPP (P = Parallel) and conically tapered thread BSPT (T = Tapered) which in Sweden are referred to as G and R / Rc respectively. All BSP threads have a thread angle of 55 degrees, unlike American pipe threads which have 60 degrees.
